With the launch of the Aquatherapy line of body care products and body treatment protocols, ASTARA has explored the marine environment to collect the abundant minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids found in seaweed and seawater. Combining the earth’s bounty with the healing properties of the ocean’s botanical riches produces a body care line that delivers potent bio actives to the skin, visibly improving its health, functionality and appearance.
Aquatherapy: the healing power of water
Water is the primary constituent of the body and proven scientific studies demonstrate that the body’s composition is nearly identical (99.7%) to that of seawater. This biological affinity offers tremendous opportunities when creating water-based treatment protocols since the body “recognizes” the essential elements contained within seawater and therefore readily absorbs them through the process of osmosis. This process works best in immersion treatments such as baths or wraps, creating an environment that allows the skin to naturally balance and heal itself. The combined action of heat and water allows the pores to expand, thereby receiving beneficial nutrition while simultaneously ridding the body of toxins and waste.

Formulated with essential minerals and beneficial plant extracts in their purest form, the retail collection is composed of 5 products that work in holistic synergy. A comprehensive treatment regimen, ASTARA’s Aquatherapy products boost the skin’s natural defenses, inhibit the factors of physical aging and deliver vital nourishment and hydration. The result is soft, smooth and gorgeous skin. Although each product can be used individually with exceptional results, it is our intention to incorporate these products within a personal spa ritual in order to promote a fuller experience of relaxation, balance and wellness:
- The initial step is a multi-action exfoliation with Citrus Lavender Sea Salt Scrub to remove dead surface skin cells and stimulate new cell production. The addition of enzymatic actives softens and smoothes the skin, giving it a firmer appearance through its toning properties.
- The second step is the Spirulina & Sea Mineral Soak, which aids in the elimination of harmful toxins while feeding the skin with essential nutrition. Ideally used in a total water immersion, it can also be applied directly onto skin and followed by a steam shower. In addition to the absorption of nutritious minerals, Spirulina & Sea Mineral Soak prepares the skin to receive a needed moisture boost.
- Aromatic Seaweed Body Wash can be blended into the soak for a luxurious foaming action, or used alone to gently clean and nourish the skin. Its sulfate- free formula and lush essential oil blend envelops mind and body to further promote the relaxation effect.
- Antioxidant Body Lotion seals in all the nutrients absorbed throughout the treatment ritual, delivering a potent blend of age defying anti oxidants to fortify and protect the skin. Skin will be infused with rich nourishment leaving it soft, silky and supple.
- Aroma Nutrient Oil may be mixed with the Antioxidant Body Lotion for extra nourishment and protection for dry skin or used alone for face, hand, foot or full body massage.
